PREP PROFILES Philadelphia St. Joseph's four-star running back D'Andre Swift is one of the top prospects in the nation and has one of the more impressive offer lists because of it. A l a b a m a , C l e m s o n , F l o r i d a S tate, G eorgia, LS U, Mich igan State, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Ten- n e s s e e a n d We s t Vi r g i n i a , a m o n g many others, have all decided they'd l i k e t h e 5 - 1 0 , 2 0 8 - p o u n d e r t o sport their colors. T h a t b e i n g s a i d , Michigan may ac- tually be in one of the better spots to land him. Swift's former teammate at St. Jo- seph's, freshman offensive lineman Jon Runyan Jr., just wrapped up a redshirt season at Michigan and can now tell Swift exactly what it's like to wear the winged helmet. Swift said that having someone close to him at Michigan is a nice plus when it comes to learning about the expe- rience in Ann Arbor as a student- athlete. "I think it will play a role a little bit," Swift said. "I plan on talking to Runyan to see how he likes it up there. I went up to Michigan last year for a seven-on-seven tourna- ment, and the facilities were really nice." Rivals.com's No. 2 running back and No. 29 overall prospect nation- ally hasn't eliminated any schools from his list of options. When he does start visiting some schools, Swift knows what he wants to see. He has goals for himself and when a school can provide the resources to fulfill that vision, that'll b e the place for him. " I w a n t t o be at a place w i t h g r e a t c o a c h e s , " h e said. "I want to be taught more. I want t o b e c o m e a student of the game and get much, much better. I want to make sure that my parents and my family like the school I'm at. "I also have to be comfortable at a school and fit in over the course of four years." Swift was a key part of a 7-3 St. Joseph's squad that was elimi- nated in the second round of the state playoffs. As a junior, the No. 2 player in Pennsylvania was recog- nized as an first-team All-Catholic League Class 4A performer. He's got unlimited choices when it comes to picking a school, but Michigan should have a real shot. — Brandon Brown Elite Running Back Could Follow Former Prep Teammate To U-M ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ St. Joseph's High School Philadelphia Class: 2017 Position: Running Back Ht.: 5-10 • Wt.: 208 Rivals.com Rankings: No. 2 prospect in Pennsylvania, and No. 2 running back and No. 29 overall player in the country D'Andre Swift
