MARCH 2015 ■ 73 Closing on an interesting note, the "Postscript" — not from the Technician — is a lengthy interview with David Thompson, which I conducted after the completion of the season for the first ACC Basketball Handbook published by my longtime friend and fellow State alum Ivan Mothershead, (NCSU '70), who gave per- mission for its use here. The postscript is followed by "Over- time: The stuff of memories," another personal note about winning the title and being there when it happened. Reprinted Technician stories and parts thereof are included with the permission of NC State University given to me in 2009 by Bradley Wilson, then the coordinator of student media at State. "You have asked for permission to re- print in part or in their entirety articles from the NCSU student newspaper, the Technician, from academic year 1973– 74 in your book on the men's basketball team," wrote Bradley in a letter. "Certainly such use is granted for use in the book and any materials necessary to publicize the book. Please ensure that any materials from the Technician are at- tributed to the original reporter or photog- rapher. As you said (in your request), the early 1970s were an exciting time to be at NCSU, and I'm glad you were there to document those special moments." So am I.
