INSIDE MICHIGAN ATHLETICS Getting To Know Senior Hockey Player David Wohlberg As a senior assistant captain in 2011, forward David Wohl- berg has tallied 11 points (four goals and seven assists) this year. He also has a plus- minus of plus-seven for the 7-7-2 Wolverines. Nickname: "Wally. It started with my peewee coach, and it just kind of stuck all the way on." Movie: "'The Changeup.' I just watched it with the guys at my house last week. It was really funny." Favorite Restaurant in Ann Arbor: "When I'm with my parents, Real Seafood Company. My parents foot the bill. It's a little too expen- sive for college kids. When I'm by myself, I'd say The Pita Pit. It's quick, it's good, it's pretty healthy." His Favorite Hockey Player Sheen and Ashton Kutcher, but it was probably funnier when Sheen was on it." Best Meal He Can Cook By Himself: "Anything grilled, because it's so easy. Chicken, steak and maybe some corn on the cob." Favorite U-M Class: "John Bacon's class. It's all about the history of college athletics. It's a lecture of 250 people, and he knows everyone's names by the end. It was a fun class." He's a hometown hero, a standup guy." What He Does To Relax Off The Ice: "I just hang out with the guys. We like to play NHL on XBox at the house. Or Call Of Duty. I'm definitely the best Call Of Duty player on the team." TV Show He Can't Miss: "Probably 'Two And A Half Men.' It's always short, sweet and funny. I like both Charlie Michigan women's basketball coach Kevin Borseth signed four recruits during the early signing period. Next season, the Wolverines will be joined by guard Symone Denham from Columbus, Ohio, forward Rebecca Lytte from Hollywood, Fla., forward Kelsey Mitchell from Inkster, Mich., and guard Madison Ristovski from Gross Point Woods, Mich. "This class as a whole gives us a lot of what we need," Borseth said. "We need ball handlers, we need defend- ers, and we need a big kid around that basket. We feel we have addressed a lot of areas that will help us grow." Ristovski comes in as one of the most decorated play- ers in the state of Michigan. In each of the last three years, she has been named to the Detroit Free Press Dream Team and earned first-team all-state honors from the paper. Ristovski, who stands 5-10, averaged a double-double as a junior last season, with 24.7 points, 11.1 assists and 6.7 rebounds per game, helping University Liggett to the Class C state finals. "Madison is unbelievably skilled," Borseth said. "She is a prototypical international-type player. She is a great point guard, very crafty and handles the ball extremely well with both hands. She shoots, scores it and sees the court extremely well." Denham was named to the Columbus Dispatch Super Do After Hockey: "Once I'm done with hockey, I really want to stay involved with it somehow. Either coaching or scouting, because I love the sport so much." Major: "General studies." Overall U-M Experience: "It's been great. Classes are fun but challenging. You re- ally build a rapport with your profes- sors and GSIs, and everyone is here to help you. It's really nice and a great opportunity." — Andy Reid WOMEN'S BASKETBALL SIGNS FOUR FOR 2012 Ten Team as a junior. She was also a first-team all-city selection. "Symone Denham is a very strong guard who is a good athlete," Borseth said. "She gives us strength and speed at the point guard spot." Lytte averaged 13 points, seven rebounds and four as- sists per game during Hollywood Christian's run to the Florida Class 1A State Championship in 2011. The Miami Herald named her to the All-Broward County first team in each of the last three years. "Rebecca Lytte is an athlete," Borseth said. "She is very quick, very explosive and has great hands. She gives us a great deal of athleticism, particularly on the defensive end of the court." In the last three years, Mitchell has posted 42 double- doubles and seven triple-doubles. Last year, she aver- aged 17 points and 15 rebounds per game. She has been named to the all-state team in each of the last three seasons. "Kelsey Mitchell gives us strength — athletic strength — in particular around the basket," Borseth said. "She has had a great deal of success at the high school level, and when she has played in the circuit in the summer time, has demonstrated some unbelievable strength and quickness in particular around the basket."
