BASKETBALL RECRUITING former Purdue and NBA star Glenn "Big Dog" Robinson Jr. The elder Rob- inson told NWITimes.com that his son's game is better at the same age. He caught his son's first high school game last year. "Tre is a better player right now than I was at his age," he said. "We have different games. I was more of a post in high school. I learned the pe- rimeter game at the next level. "He's a better shooter than I was. He's a better all-around player than me, too. His vertical leap — it's great. He's shorter than I am, but when he plays, he's up there where I used to be." He does have the same turnaround jumper and many of the same charac- teristics, Milausnic said. "They both have it. It was and is deadly," Milausnic said. "It's uncanny how similar it looks." "Genetics are crazy," the younger Robinson said. "I hear that all the time." Future teammate McGary, mean- while, helped Brewster Academy win its first tournament of the year in early November. Brewster grabbed its fourth consecutive New Hamp- Robinson, the No. 34 player in the class of 2012 according to Rivals.com, averaged 27.5 points per game in his first two outings this season. McGary didn't fare quite as well at The New England Recruiting Report National Prep Showcase in mid-No- vember, one of the East Coast's top prep school tournaments. His best performance was a nine-point, eight- rebound showing in a 91-75 win over Fishburne Military Academy. He was quieter in a 95-65 victory over Massa- nutten Military Academy, but Brews- ter improved to 5-0, regardless. Rivals.com rates Michigan's 2012 class of Robinson, McGary and South- borough (Mass.) St. Mark's shooting guard Nick Stauskas (6-6, Rivals.com's No. 79 senior nationally) No. 5 nation- ally and No. 2 in the Big Ten behind Indiana. McGary was rated as the top power forward prospect in the confer- ence and was also deemed best low post scorer, best rebounder and best pro prospect. "Up in Ann Arbor, Glen Robinson III looks like the kind of guy who could eventually lead the Wolverines in scor- ing," Rivals.com's Eric Bossi added.
