Alkins was part of the adidas USA squad that played in Treviso, Italy, in early June. Adebayo was one of his teammates. "That was amazing, and the first time that I've left the country for basketball," Al- kins said. "It was the first time I've left the country, period. Basketball takes you a lot of places. I tried to play my best in front of all the NBA GM's and scouts." Alkins has long said he'd like to wait to sign during the April 2016 signing period. "I'll probably announce late, after high school," Alkins said. "By that time, I'll have a list, and I'd like to go to every school on that list, and then go from there. "I want it to be family orientated. I don't want it to be just a job. I want to develop a great relationship with the coach and the players, and be in a great atmosphere." The Wolfpack coaches descended on the Nike Peach Jam July 8-12 in North Augusta, S.C., and found senior post player Dylan Painter of Hershey (Pa.) High. NCSU offered the 6-10, 230-pounder July 13. Painter had a productive Peach Jam for Team Final, averaging 11.8 points and 4.2 rebounds per game in five contests.
