UNDER THE DOME
2
Notre Dame players — junior linebacker Jaylon Smith and senior cornerback KeiVarae Russell — who
made the 25-man "All-Freak" college football team selected by Bruce Feldman of FOX Sports. The
Irish and Baylor were the only two schools to have two representatives. Russell was ranked No. 8 because
of a 40-inch vertical leap and strength that includes a 500-pound squat and 20 bench press reps of 225
pounds (achieved by only two corners at the last two NFL Combines). Smith was rated No. 12 because of
a 36-inch vertical, 26 reps of 225 pounds and four-percent body fat, drawing favorable comparisons to All-
Pro linebacker Patrick Willis.
10
Notre Dame players on the
2015 roster, including walk-
ons, who hail from the state
of Texas and will face the Texas Longhorns in
the Sept. 5 opener. Among those expected
to see action are junior tight end
Durham Smythe (who originally
committed to Texas), junior
wideouts COREY ROBINSON
and Torii Hunter Jr., sophomore
cornerback Nick Watkins and
sophomore defensive end Grant
Blankenship.
