BY LOU SOMOGYI S igning four freshman wide receivers, plus a tight end in Aliz'e Jones who is deemed more a wideout, did not seem necessary back in February. That's because Notre Dame was re- turning its top six receivers from 2014 and already had two more four-star freshmen — Justin Brent and Corey Holmes — waiting their turn among the octet. Meanwhile, tight end already had five players with at least three years of eligibility remaining. It turns out those February signings look to be propitious in 2015 after all. Two of last year 's wide receivers, C.J. Prosise and Brent, are now full- time running backs after the academic ineligibility and transfer of running back Greg Bryant. In fact it has been enhanced to where the receiving units — including tight end — will likely have the most competition and deepest rotation for the Fighting Irish in 2015. The reasons are manifold: • It begins with junior slot receiver Torii Hunter Jr. — last year 's No. 6 receiver, but the top performer among RECEIVERS GIVE THROUGH FLEXIBILITY Influx of freshmen provides offense with options and the ability to play up-tempo
