He also had to adjust to running north-south and downhill rather than with his niche play of bursting outside on the sweep while getting a running head start. His play on special teams last season and as a willing blocker at receiver would attest that he's not averse to contact. It's more about learn- ing how to square his body into the line rather than run parallel to it. A hip flexor suffered by Prosise early in August camp didn't put him on schedule to be back in commission un- til around Aug. 24, or about two weeks before the Texas opener. His presence is needed because beyond top return- ing rusher Folston, the running back position includes two freshmen learn- ing the ropes (Josh Adams and Dex- ter Williams) and a recently converted sophomore wide receiver (Justin Brent) to help compensate for the departure of Bryant. "We work well together," Prosise said of Folston. "The two dynamics that we have are going to work really well in this offense. We're two different types of running backs, and I think it's going to work out well." Fortunately, the running aspect and being a home-run threat feels natural to Prosise. "Some things I've still got to get used to — like playing inside the tackles. I've never done that," he said. "Learning the blocking schemes is something I've got to adjust to, too." An inquiry he often fields is whether he prefers receiver or running back. "Can't even tell you yet," he replied. "I guess I'll have to wait until the game to see that." That could be one of the X-factors to the 2015 Notre Dame offense. ✦
