that was my main goal. "I would come out there every sin- gle day, and my goal was to get my brothers — my teammates — better and to prepare them for the game on Saturday." It's a selfless take for the Chats- worth, Calif., native and one of the reasons why Kelly elected to put him on scholarship. The head coach said that he called Anderson into his of- fice Aug. 13, and told him that he wanted him to model Notre Dame's new Shamrock Series uniforms for his teammates. "He didn't know he was getting a scholarship," Kelly said. "The guys were pretty charged up. He's a great model. I said, 'In fact … he models everything I think is right about a Notre Dame player.' At that time, I announced he was getting a scholar- ship." The entire meeting room erupted in elation and appreciation for Ander- son, and the commitment and sacri- fices he had made. "He's one of the hardest work- ers that I've ever met," Prosise said. "He's in pre-med, he'll be up all night studying, and then he'll come and practice the next day ready to go. He gives 100 percent every play … I was so proud and happy for him because I know the work he put in."
