  MICHIGAN IN THE PROS BY CHRIS BALAS F ormer Michigan quarterback Tom Brady had been mentioned as one of the greatest to ever play the game even before his four-touchdown MVP performance in a 28-24 win over Seattle in Super Bowl XLIX. He essentially ended all doubt that he's at the top of an elite list. Brady rewrote the record book — again — in the Feb. 1 win, breaking, tying or extending eight Super Bowl records, including most completions in a game (37), most completions in a half (20), most starts (six) and most career touchdown passes (13). His 37 completions broke Peyton Man- ning's old record of 34, which was set last season in Denver's 43-8 loss to Seattle. Brady also joined San Francisco's Joe Montana and Pittsburgh's Terry Bradshaw as the only quarterbacks in NFL history who have won four Super Bowls as a starter, and his 328- yard, four-touchdown performance earned him his third MVP award, tying Montana for the most ever. He stands out in yet another "era of the quarterback," a winner who is still in his prime.
