2015 RECRUITING ISSUE BY MICHAEL SPATH W ith the proliferation of the star-ranking system to evaluate recruits — it began in 1998, but gained popularity in 2001 — we can track the success of the Wolverines' most- heralded players throughout their college careers and toward an NFL future. From 2001 through a handful of eli- gible players in the 2010-11 recruiting classes — fourth-year seniors in the 2010 class and players that left after their junior or redshirt sophomore year in the 2011 class — Michigan has seen 33 players drafted, the ma- jority garnering a four-star designa- tion coming out of high school (19, or 57.8 percent of the 33), while eight were five-star prospects and six were three-stars.
