At 6-7 and 230 pounds, Zach Gen-
try has college-ready size — but he
knows that size alone isn't enough
to play at Michigan and in the Big
Ten. New head coach Jim Harbaugh
is creating an environment where
competition is critical to the devel-
opment of his players, especially the
quarterbacks.
When Gentry arrives in Ann Ar-
bor in June, he will join four other
scholarship quarterbacks. Fellow
freshman and early enrollee Alex
Malzone, redshirt freshman Wilton
Speight, junior Shane Morris and
incoming sophomore transfer John
O'Korn, who will have to sit out and
redshirt, but will add to a very tal-
ented and competitive group. Gentry
wouldn't have it any other way.
