2015 RECRUITING ISSUE "The people at Michigan are really genuine," Jones said. "Coach Har- baugh was really cool and fired up. I really liked Coach [Greg} Mattison, I really enjoyed his company and his energy. "The coaches were coming to see me and coming after me really hard. That showed me that I was wanted. All of those things allowed me to decide that Michigan was the school I wanted to go to." Jones became the first recruit to commit to Michigan under the guid- ance of Harbaugh. Immediately af- ter verbally becoming a Wolverine, Jones put that energy and enthusi- asm to work and tried to convince everyone on the trip with him that Michigan was the place to be. "I told them all to commit," he al- most yelled. "I was like, 'Dude, are you going to commit? Come on, just jump on the train.' I told the offen- sive guys, 'You don't want to see me on the other side of the ball.' "A lot of them bought into it. A lot of them said, 'I think this is where I want to be too.' I got a good vibe from all of them. We really bought into Michigan. We talked about if we committed that we could be on the front end of a new kind of Michi- gan." Don't mistake Jones' outgoing, fired-up personality for immaturity, though. DeMyer watched Jones de- velop from a 14-year-old freshman into a 19-year-old young man just months away from becoming a col- lege student. He said that he wit- nessed an amazing growth in Jones over the course of his recruitment unlike anything he had seen before.
