"It was just a matter of me making the decision of when I was going to com- mit. I loved everything Notre Dame." It didn't take long. Lugg commit- ted to the Irish on Aug. 14. He picked Notre Dame over Wisconsin, Tennes- see, Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh, Penn State and Northwestern. "After my second visit, I thought long and hard about it with my family and the coaching staff, and we decided that it's best for me to commit now and not wait," he said. "Notre Dame is an outstanding place, and I'm happy with everything about it." Lugg wasn't the only person smiling after he made the call to Notre Dame with the good news. Irish offensive FILM ANALYSIS Strengths Joshua Lugg has an incredible frame, possessing long arms and a build that will allow him to carry an easy 300-plus pounds in college … Surprisingly athletic and agile for a player that is so long at such a young age … Has the natural athletic skills you want in an offensive tackle … Shows active feet and a good leg drive through contact … Has a mean streak and embraces the physical part of the game … A coach's dream who plays with a good base and pad level. Areas For Improvement Tends to body block a lot, so learning to consistently shoot his hands with force at the snap is needed … He must continue to build up his lower body and improve his upper body strength … Has all the tools to develop into a high-level pass blocker but does not have much experience in that part of the game. — Bryan Driskell
