FOOTBALL RECRUITING has mentioned taking an official visit to Notre Dame, but has yet to set up a trip. That's not the case when it comes to Hansford. He will be on campus with his fam- ily for the Georgia Tech game Sept. 19. "We want to take all five official vis- its and narrow this down," said Hans- ford's father, Adam. "Notre Dame is one of the primary schools that Aaron is interested in, and he has over 25 offers. But in terms of the top five schools, Notre Dame is definitely one of the ones that he is really consider- ing." The 6-2, 210-pound Hansford, who runs a 4.47 40-yard dash, is ranked as the No. 19 outside linebacker in the country and the nation's No. 249 overall prospect. He also plans to tour UCLA and Oregon. DEFENSIVE END Notre Dame has had its fair share of struggles recruiting defensive ends, but that hasn't discouraged the staff from continuing to target elite talent at the position. The Irish currently hold pledges from Charlotte (N.C.) Ardrey Kell four-star end Julian Okwara and Walled Lake (Mich.) Central three- star end Adetokunbo Ogundeji, but would like to add at least one more pass rusher to the class. The top targets on the board appear to be McKinney (Texas) North four- star end Justin Madubuike and Wash- ington (D.C.) St. John's four-star end Terrell Hall, who recently decommit- ted from Ohio State. Madubuike, who is ranked as the No. 15 strongside defensive end in the class and the No. 241 overall prospect in the country, has mentioned a poten- tial visit but hasn't scheduled any of his official trips. The 6-3, 245-pound Madubuike has been in contact with Irish defensive line coach Keith Gilmore. So has Hall, who said that Gilmore recruited him while he was at North Carolina. "He was recruiting me real early when I was a junior," Hall said. "I know Coach Gilmore has a good his- tory as far as developing defensive linemen." The 6-5, 251-pound Hall is ranked by Rivals as the No. 10 weakside de- fensive end in the country and the na- tion's No. 202 overall prospect. He's also considering Alabama, Florida, Texas A&M, TCU and Oklahoma. ✦ Rivals rates Irish target Terrell Hall of Washington (D.C.) St. John's as a four-star prospect, and the No. 10 weakside defensive end and No. 202 overall player nationally. PHOTO COURTESY RIVALS.COM
