"Right now Notre Dame is sort of like a brand to him, along with Coach Brey and the assistant coaches. But once he sees the school, that's where he can start to connect the dots as far as if he sees himself living there for four years, if he sees himself academically getting out of the college what he wants, and if he sees himself fitting in with the program and helping the program get to the level he wants to get to. "He's been in contact with Notre Dame for at least a few months, so this allows him to put it all together. I don't think he'd be able to make a college choice without being on campus at a place like Notre Dame." Huerter added numerous offers from Power Five conference teams this spring and summer, thanks to his strong play on Nike's EYBL circuit. The 6‑5, 175‑pound guard — who is ranked as the No. 80 overall player nationally by Rivals — averaged 12.2 points and 3.3 assists in 26.8 minutes per contest, helping the Albany City Rocks to an 11‑7 regular‑season record. He sank 44 of 110 three‑point attempts (40.0 per‑ cent) in the 18 contests. After the rush of attention from colleges over the last few months, Huerter's now down to a list of eight schools: Notre Dame, Maryland, Indi‑ ana, Creighton, Michigan, Villanova, Iowa and Davidson.
