142 ■ THE WOLFPACKER ■ FOOTBALL RECRUITING Scouting report: Chaf- fin was a prized commodity because he is a pure center — a cerebral lineman that has played the position all of his career and has the athleticism to excel in the middle of the line. He also scores highly on intangibles with his leadership, strong academic credentials and Christian's good track record of former players performing well in college. 17. DEFENSIVE BACK MOOK REYNOLDS Greensboro Northern Guilford High Measurables: Was 6-0, 170 pounds at the Rivals camp Series event in Charlotte in March. Stats: Offensively, caught 46 passes for 639 yards and 12 touchdowns, and both ran and threw for a score as a junior. Defensively, added 80 tackles, including 13 for loss and a pair of sacks, and recorded three interceptions and a fumble recovery. Rivals.com rankings: Four-star prospect, No. 240 recruit in the class, No. 26 corner- back nationally and No. 8 player in the state. Colleges: Verbally committed to Virginia Tech Feb. 8, but is still considering colleges and has offers from Notre Dame and Ten- nessee, among others. Scouting report: Reynolds is an all- around playmaker in the mold of Hines, but is better suited to play defense in college. In high school, he excels coming up from his safety position to the line and providing run support or blitzing the quarterback. He has good lateral quickness and should be able to transition to corner in college, which may be his best position considering his slighter frame. 18. QUARTERBACK KENDALL HINTON Durham Southern High Measurables: At the Shrine Bowl Com- bine at Washington High in June, was 5-11, 184 pounds. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.60 seconds and the shut- tle in 4.46 seconds, leaped 9-10 on the standing broad jump and did 13 reps at 185 pounds on the bench press. Stats: As a junior, com- pleted 219 of 339 passes for 3,972 yards with 39 touchdowns and five picks, and rushed 95 times for 1,183 yards and 13 scores while helping Southern win the 3-AA state title. Rivals.com rankings: Three-star pros- pect. Colleges: Verbally committed to Wake Forest June 11. cox BP MOBILE DJ U no ff i c i a l D J Fo r W o lf pack N a t i on Weddings, parties, events Over 18 years of dedicated experience (910) 324-4578 www.bpcox.com Member of the Triangle Bridal Association Wolfpack Club Member, LTR Holder, Lifelong Wolfpacker NOTHING Rocks Like Cox!
