98 ■ THE WOLFPACKER FOOTBALL 2014 BY MATT CARTER T he Wolfpacker's top 25 list is an annual tradition for the football preview magazine. Each year, the magazine staff votes using criteria of players' abilities, previous perfor- mances, coaches' comments and the team's needs for a successful season. It's little surprise that redshirt junior Jacoby Brissett, the new starting quar- terback for NC State who is featured in this magazine, headlines the list as a unanimous No. 1. Signal-caller is con- sidered the marquee position on the field, and Brissett's ability to improve the play there could be the difference between what happened in 2013 and a team is successful this fall. We will revisit the list in the postsea- son, but here is the preseason top 25.
