football recruiting issue Burned By Penn State, Ross Douglas Finds A Home At Michigan July 23 is a day that will live in infamy among those that don the blue and white to cheer on Penn State. For cornerback Ross Douglas, that day changed everything. The 5-10, 180-pounder was committed to the Nittany Lions for 144 days, believing head coach Bill O���Brien when he promised State College could deliver the future, both in the classroom and on the football field, that Douglas had always envisioned. But when the NCAA sanctioned the Penn State program, Douglas felt betrayed. ���To be honest, I had no idea what to expect because the coaches just sort of played it off like it was no big deal,��� the Avon, Ohio, native said. Douglas rushed for 1,349 yards and 24 touchdowns in leading Avon to an 11-2 overall record and the quarterfinals of the Ohio Division II state playoffs, but he will play cornerback at U-M. photo courtesy
