To Compete From The Start
Originally committed to Central Michigan, Jones was thrilled to get an offer from Michigan
last Halloween and quickly accepted it.

Some took it as an affirmation of
Da���Mario Jones��� skills when schools
such as Georgia and Florida State
came sweeping in at the last minute,
trying to sway his pledge to them.
After all, the one-time Central Michigan commit didn���t boast the biggest
offers before Michigan came along.
Jones, a 6-2, 185-pound wide receiver out of Westland (Mich.) John
Glenn High School, and his coach,
Tim Hardin, didn���t require any additional opinions. They���re both convinced the only sleepers are the ones
dozing about Jones��� abilities.
The senior didn���t rack up huge
numbers in a struggling John Glenn
program over the past two years. At
the same time, he showed plenty in
a difficult situation, Hardin pointed
out.
