OLYMPIC SPORTS UPDATE nior Sara Driesenga, who went 4‑0 with a 0.78 ERA in limited time last season. According to Hutchins, it will take a cumulative effort from the pitchers to fuel success. "We've got a pitching staff," she said. "We're thrilled to have Sara [Driesenga] back, but I don't know how I feel about them until we go on the field and play. I can tell you that we need to keep getting better every day, and for Megan [Betsa] to be ef‑ fective we need to be a staff." No matter how the rest of the team performs, it will be a good feeling for Hutchins and the rest of the Wol‑ verines to have Romero standing by their side, remaining one of the elite hitters across the nation. However, when speaking of her already‑rich legacy, the three‑time All‑American does not focus on her impressive play on the field. "I definitely want to be remem‑ bered as a good teammate and a good team leader," Romero said. "Just remembered for having fun on the field, not taking it too seriously — because that's when I play my best and that's when the team plays its best." If there was one thing to focus on for this year 's success, Romero noted: "We just have to keep things simple." "We focus on the bat and the ball, and the things that we control," Hutchins added. Even with that simplicity, the coach acknowledged there will undoubt‑ edly be bumps in the road to expect. "It is a new season and I expect that we're going to face our fair share of challenges," she said. "How you respond to it is the key to success." WATER POLO HOPES TOUGH SCHEDULE WILL PAY DIVIDENDS The No. 6‑ranked Michigan wom‑ en's water polo team has not had an easy start to the 2016 season.
