American Heri- tage tight end Nick Eubanks was of- fered by Michigan in March 2015, but he never seemed like an overly real- istic option for the Maize and Blue — or so people believed. Four-star prospects from the Sun- shine State with offers from Ala- bama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Miami and others, rarely head up north to play in the Big Ten, but Eubanks bucked that trend. "Michigan was always in the pic- ture. I just never really told anyone about it," Eubanks said. "There was a lot of pressure on me from a lot of other schools, so I basically kept it on the down low. "Once my time came to visit, I took the trip and I liked everything about it and committed." American Heritage head coach and former NFL star Patrick Surtain was a little surprised by Eubanks' com- mitment. He couldn't pinpoint what won over Eubanks, but understood the decision. "I guess Coach [Jim] Harbaugh worked his magic on him," Surtain said with a laugh. "Nick committed while he was up there on his visit. I told Nick that if he was happy, I was happy. "I think it's going to be a great fit because Coach Harbaugh has done a remarkable job with his tight ends.
