  FOOTBALL RECRUITING O ver the past 15 years, Michigan has earned its share of National Signing Day commitments, picking up 28 pledges on the first Wednesday in February during that span. However, the Wolverines have never experienced a National Signing Day like 2016 when it nabbed five-star defensive tackle Rashan Gary, four- star tight end Devin Asiasi, four-star cornerback Lavert Hill and three-star kicker Quinn Nordin. Using the Rivals.com team recruit- ing rankings formula, those four pros- pects alone were worth 612 of U-M's 2,603 points, which was the nation's fourth-best total. A prospect given a 6.1 rating (the high-end five-stars) are worth 150 points while a 6.0 five-star is worth 135 points, a 5.9 four-star is 120 points and the values decrease until reaching a 5.2 two-star at 15 points.
