2016 FOOTBALL RECRUITING ISSUE BY BRANDON BROWN F or Michigan, it can be tough to go into the Sunshine State and pluck talent away from programs such as Florida, Florida State and Miami. In the 2016 class, however, that is exactly what Jim Harbaugh and his staff did. U-M landed six prospects from Flor- ida, including three from Flanagan High School in Pembroke Pines. Safety Josh Metellus and safety/ linebacker Devin Gil have signed their National Letter of Intent, while linebacker Devin Bush Jr. is already on campus in Ann Arbor as an early enrollee. Bush Jr.'s father, Devin Bush Sr., is the head coach at Flanagan and cer- tainly knows the game. He starred as a safety at Florida State and won a national championship in 1993. He was drafted No. 26 overall in the first round by the Atlanta Falcons and won a Super Bowl in 2000 while a member of the St. Louis Rams. He became the coach at Flanagan in 2013 and this past season won a state championship in Class 8A, Florida's largest division. Flanagan finished the season 12-2 and outscored its competition 421-90.
