2016 FOOTBALL RECRUITING ISSUE him to Ann Arbor for his official visit. Harbaugh's routine drew a lot of crit- icism from many opposing coaches, but it obviously worked and Nordin said that it made him feel wanted at Michigan. "Coach Harbaugh has my back and he was going to do whatever possible to get me to go there," Nor- din said. "He's got my back. He's had my back since day one, and so I have his back and I'm going to Mich- igan. I love Coach Harbaugh. He's the man." If the sleepover wasn't enough to push Nordin over the edge, what he experienced during his official visit to Ann Arbor was. "After my official visit, there was no doubt that was the place for me," he said. "At Michigan you get a great education, I have all my friends and family here. There are some great kids going to Michigan. It's a great staff." Nordin will arrive in Ann Arbor before fall camp and is expected to get a shot to see the field. Brandon Kornblue sported the Maize and Blue from 1996-99 and now heads up Ko- rnblue Kicking, one of the most na- tionally recognized companies in the kicking, punting and long snapping industry. He has been coaching Nor- din since he was in middle school and thinks that the three-star has all of the tools to see action during his rookie year. "Quinn is one of the strongest placekickers in the nation and con- tinues to make gains with his consis- tency and accuracy," Kornblue said. "His ability to get great height, ball rotation and distance on field goals and kickoffs is what sets him apart." Rivals.com lists Nordin as the No. 22 player in Michigan and the No. 1 kicker in the nation. Kornblue agrees with the lofty ranking, giving him the No. 1 spot in the Fab 50 listing on his own website. The coach believes that his star pupil will absolutely contribute at Michigan. "Quinn could certainly do what- ever you ask him to do in college," Kornblue said. "Kenny Allen will be a fifth-year senior and he can kick and punt as well, so I think it remains to be seen how it will play out be- tween those guys." Nordin knows Allen personally and is aware of what he's done on the field at Michigan, but he's ready to push for playing time, whether it's with punts, kickoffs or placekicking. "Kenny is a dear friend," Nordin expressed. "He's obviously at Michi- gan right now — he's the guy, so I respect the heck out of him — but I'm going to go in there and do what I can to step on the field." Recruits go through a lot when being pursued by several college programs, and Nordin seemed re- laxed and relieved that it's over. He's simply ready to move on to the next chapter in his life. "I'm very blessed to have this op- portunity." Nordin said. "The recruit- ing process was long, but I'm excited to call a place home and get to work. "I'm from Michigan — this is my home state. This is where I started, and this is where I'm going to finish it." ❏
