2016 FOOTBALL RECRUITING ISSUE his dad (Leroy), who was in the United States Military. • High school teammate of unsigned 2016 outside linebacker commit Dy- tarious Johnson. 2016 PROJECTION • An early enrollee, Davis will get his opportunity to earn a place in the running back rotation come this fall. However, with seniors De'Veon Smith and Drake Johnson likely to return, and with fellow freshman standout Kareem Walker by his side, a redshirt season seems the most likely out- come. THEY SAID IT • Running Backs Coach Tyrone Wheatley: "Kingston comes from a military family which lived overseas. He is a very good athlete, a great bas- ketball player. Kingston is a diligent, hard-working young man who played football in Alabama. Football is the buckle of the belt down there. He was the leader on the Prattville team and carried that team this past year. He is a big guy with great vision, great lateral movement and great ball skills. He has an opportunity to come in and compete for playing time, and contribute in our short yardage and goal-line situations. Academics play a big role in his life. His parents work in the IT department in the military, and they understand and instilled a pride in academics for Kingston. The educa- tion that he can receive at Michigan is very important to Kingston and one of the main reasons why he chose to come play football at our institution. Davis ran for 3,088 yards and 33 touchdowns in his final two prep campaigns, averaging 7.1 yards per tote. PHOTO BY LON HORWEDEL
