2016 FOOTBALL RECRUITING ISSUE be seen how new defensive coordina- tor Don Brown will employ his person- nel next season. THEY SAID IT • Defensive Line Coach Greg Mat- tison: "Ron will play outside at a de- fensive end position for our team. He is a very good athlete that has great size and speed. I think he is just scratch- ing the surface on how good of a foot- ball player he can be. Ron improved throughout the season. He is going to be a great addition to our defensive line and to the Michigan program." • Camden Head Coach Dwayne Savage: "Ron started three years for us. His dad was a running back for Wis- consin, so Ron already had the work ethic to succeed. We started him early because of his size and speed, and his ability to get to the football is some- thing he's always had." • Rivals.com Mid-Atlantic Recruit- ing Analyst Adam Friedman: "John- son is extremely explosive off the line of scrimmage and has a great outside move. He is very athletic and has very good balance. He is someone that will put pressure on a quarterbacks, and he also has the athleticism to play in space. I see him developing into more of a hy- brid outside linebacker/defensive end, and as he gets stronger, his inside pass rushing moves will get a lot better." • Tom Lemming Of Prep Football Re- port: "He's a four-plus guy. When I went to Camden High School, the coach was just raving about his ability as a pass- rusher. He's got long arms and is excep- tionally quick. He could even play safety if he wanted to — that's how fast this guy is as a defensive end. He could be an outside linebacker for Michigan."
