2016 FOOTBALL RECRUITING ISSUE • Nebrask a, Notre Dame, Ok la- homa, Oregon, USC and Wisconsin were among his other offers. NOTABLE • Born Feb. 6, 1998 in Pasadena, Calif. • Carries a 4.0 GPA. • Hopes to be an architectural engi- neering or business major at Michi- gan. 2016 PROJECTION • Long is probably good enough to play as a true freshman, but he may not need to because of Michigan's depth in the secondary. Seniors Jour- dan Lewis and Channing Stribling, redshirt sophomore Jabrill Peppers and likely fifth-year senior Jeremy Clark all return next year, meaning Long could redshirt. THEY SAID IT • S e c o n d a r y C o a c h M i c h a e l Zordich: " When you talk about a Michigan man, David Long definitely has those character traits. He's a very conscientious young man that knows what he wants. He sees it, he envisions it, and you know he is going to go out and get it; that is David Long. As a football player, he is another young man that can play on both sides of the ball. He is a really good athlete, a tough kid; the kind of guy we want representing our program. David's Long recorded an interception while helping the West team to a 37-9 victory in the Army All-American Bowl. PHOTO COURTESY RIVALS.COM
