Cedar Grove three-star Jelani Woods Woods is a high school teammate of 2016 signee Elysee Mbem-Bosse, and the 6-6, 215-pounder could be just the type to compete for a spot at quarterback, but end up playing a position like tight end or wide re- ceiver if he's unable to win the job. The No. 46 junior in Georgia and No. 21 dual-threat quarterback na- tionally has outstanding athletic po- tential. RUNNING BACK Scholarship Players In 2017: 6 Need: 2 Commits: 1 Michigan's 2017 stable of running backs possess tremendous potential, but no production. Slated to be a fifth-year senior, Ty Isaac is the most accomplished of the five scholarship ball carriers with 441 yards on 70 car- ries. The rest of Michigan's runners have just 14 career rushing attempts. Still, there's a lot of promise in this group to be excited about, espe- cially after U-M signed a pair of big 2017 U-M Recruiting Class Bloomfield Hills (Mich.) Brother Rice tight end Carter Dunaway The 6-6, 232-pound Dunaway is an unranked three-star prospect. The son of former U-M tight end Craig Dunaway committed to the Wolverines on April 17, 2015. Oak Park (Mich.) High offensive lineman Ja'Raymond Hall The 6-5, 255-pound Hall is ranked as a three-star recruit, the No. 12 junior in Michigan and the No. 44 offensive tackle nationally. He made The Detroit News Divison 1-2 first-team all-state squad last fall and committed to Michigan on Dec. 5, 2015. Highlands Ranch (Colo.) Valor Christian quarterback Dylan McCaffrey The 6-4, 185-pound McCaffrey is the top junior in Colorado, and the No. 6 dual-threat quarterback and No. 114 overall prospect nationally. The son of former NFL wide receiver Ed McCaffrey committed to U-M on Feb. 15, 2016. Montreal (Quebec) Vieux-Montreal cornerback Benjamin St-Juste The 6-3, 185-pound St-Juste is an unranked three-star prospect. Initially a member of the 2016 U-M commitment group, he reclassified to ensure his international transcripts would not be an issue in getting through the NCAA Clearinghouse in time. Covington (Ga.) Newton running back Kurt Taylor The 5-9, 201-pound Taylor is ranked as a three-star prospect, the No. 44 junior in Georgia and the No. 26 running back nationally. He committed to Michigan on Oct. 16, 2015. — Tim Sullivan
