MICHIGAN BASKETBALL • Michigan kept its perfect record intact versus the Scarlet Knights. The Wol- verines are 8-0 in the all-time series with Rutgers. • The Wolverines knocked off Penn State 79-72 at Madison Square Garden in New York City Jan. 30. The game was only the second regular-season, neutral- site contest in Michigan basketball history. • Michigan's Feb. 2 loss at Crisler Center to Indiana, 80-67, increased the Hoo- siers' all-time series lead to 106-57. • Irvin connected on a trio of three-pointers in the loss to Indiana, allowing him to pass Nik Stauskas (2013-14) for eighth place on Michigan's all-time list for trey makes. The threes gave Irvin 169 for his career, moving him past Staus- kas' 167. • U-M's 89-73 loss to Michigan State at Crisler Center Feb. 6 marked the first time all season the Wolverines dropped back-to-back games. Michigan re- mained in control of the all-time series 97-80, including a 60-30 mark at home. Michigan State holds a 6-5 advantage in the last 11 battles, and this game was the only regular-season contest between the teams this year. • Michigan posted a season-high 11 steals as a team in the loss to the Spar- tans. • Redshirt sophomore wing Duncan Robinson went 0 of 3 from long range versus MSU, marking the first time since the season opener he didn't connect on at least one three-pointer. • Michigan held off Minnesota for an 82-74 victory Feb. 10, tying a season best with 56.0-percent shooting (14 of 25) from three-point range. The Wolverines got five threes from Walton, who scored a career-high 26 points against the Gophers. • The Wolverines moved to 50-0 under John Beilein when scoring at least 80 points in a game, with the Minnesota win. Michigan has beaten Minnesota nine straight times, and captured 13 of the last 14 games between the teams. • Beilein and his staff donned #ChadTough T-shirt for the Purdue contest, raising awareness for the Chad Tough Foundation. That is Beilein's charity in the ESPN Infiniti Coaches Charity Challenge. Beilein led the fan voting through mid-February, in an effort to secure the top prize of $100,000 for the pediatric cancer entity. • Irvin tied his season high with 22 points in the win over the Boilermakers. He scored 16 in the second half. • Michigan's rebounding edge over Purdue (39-35) marked the first time all year the Boilermakers and their two seven-footers have been outrebounded in a game. • The Wolverines tied their season low with six turnovers against Purdue, but also established a season low in three-point percentage, connecting on just 5 of 20 (25.0 percent).
