MICHIGAN IN THE PROS brailo led to the Broncos moving Ryan Harris from the right side to the left. "Schofield's been doing a tremen‑ dous job out there, as young as he is," Denver guard Louis Vasquez told re‑ porters in the days leading up to the Super Bowl. Schofield started from week four on and had his ups and downs, but he ex‑ celled in a playoff win over Pittsburgh and was good enough to play every snap in the Super Bowl. "I can't even describe how awe‑ some this is right now," Schofield told Chicago.CBSLocal.com after the win. "It's just the best feeling in the world. I've got my family out on the field cel‑ ebrating. You can't beat this." His family — including father, Mike Sr. — joined Michigan's former right tackle on the field in the after‑ math. Mike Sr. is acting fire chief in Orland Park, Ill., where a party was being organized for his return. "I can't describe the pride," Orland Fire Protection District battalion chief Nick Cinquepalmi said. "We're just so happy for him and his family." "This is awesome for my son," Scho‑ field Sr. added, celebrating on the field at Levi's Stadium. "I can't believe it." Schofield was beaten for a sack in the Super Bowl, but held up well enough to help get the win. "I still have to pinch myself," Scho‑ field told The Detroit News just before a teammate handed him the Lombardi Trophy in the Broncos locker room. "It's unreal. It's going to be awesome going back, and celebrating with the family is going to be the best feeling ever. "It was a huge roller‑coaster ride, obviously. … Highest of highs with this, lowest of lows giving up a couple sacks. My teammates helped me make it through … My family, my support — everyone helped me. We're world champs right now. We made it." Carolina Panthers rookie wide re‑ ceiver Devin Funchess made one of the plays of the game with a leap‑ ing, 24‑yard grab over former Ohio State defensive back Bradley Roby, and finished with two catches for 40 yards. And while his quarterback, Cam Newton, took heat for his suc‑ cinct postgame interviews, Funchess received credit for his maturity. "We have emotions," he said in the postgame. "We aren't just people out there trying to entertain you guys. It's hard to deal with. "Everybody wants to win. We have to tuck our heads on this one and congratulate Denver for winning the game." U‑M HAS MADE ITS MARK IN SUPER BOWLS Michigan's Tom Brady is by far the most decorated U‑M football Super Bowl alum, but he didn't get the op‑ portunity to bring home another tro‑ phy to represent former Wolverines this year. However, Brady did earn the distinction of being ESPN.com's No. 1 Super Bowl player of all time. "When asked which Super Bowl ring is his favorite, Tom Brady's re‑ sponse is always the same: 'The next one,'" the site wrote. "Brady's relent‑ less pursuit of the 'next one,' which is a yearlong endeavor in which he
