"Michigan did an amazing job get- ting all these celebrities," Mills said. "And, you know, they had people coming out of the woodwork for them. They had people calling them. I mean, we didn't have enough room for everybody we would have liked to put in the show. "It's just amazing, the cast of charac- ters that assemble around Harbaugh. … We just wanted to make sure we had a platform to celebrate Michigan football, to celebrate these recruits, to celebrate these student-athletes and Coach Harbaugh, of course." ESPN analyst and 1991 Heisman winner Desmond Howard made an appearance, as did outgoing athletics director Jim Hackett, former Michi- gan quarterbacks Denard Robinson and Devin Gardner — who led the audience in a spirited rendition of "The Victors" — former linebacker Jake Ryan (now with the Green Bay Packers) and a number of other ex- Wolverines.
