FOOTBALL RECRUITING 6 Additions hailed from the state of New Jersey, breaking the previous record of two, achieved in both the 2008 and 2014 recruiting classes. In the last 25 years, U-M has signed just eight total prospects from New Jersey, including one each in 1997, 1998, 2000 and 2009. 6 Signees were from Florida, representing the second most signed by the Wolverines during the Rivals.com era (2002-present). Rich Rodriguez nabbed seven Floridians in 2009, including four-star quarterback Denard Robinson. Michigan has signed eight prospects from Florida in the first two classes of the Jim Harbaugh era. The Wolverines signed 13 in three classes with Rodriguez (2008-10). 6 Wide receivers signed with the Wolverines — Dylan Crawford, Chris Evans, Brad Hawkins Jr., Nate Johnson, Eddie McDoom and Ahmir Mitchell. Evans could also play defense, but he was officially introduced by Michigan as a wide receiver at its Signing of the Stars event. 12 Class of 2016 decommitments over the past 12 months: quarterback Messiah deWeaver, quarterback Victor Viramontes, running back Matt Falcon, offensive tackle Erik Swenson, offensive lineman Devery Hamilton, linebacker Dele Harding, defensive end Rashad Weaver, linebacker David Re- ese, cornerback Antwaine Richardson, running back Kiante Enis, cornerback Sir Patrick Scott and defensive tackle Jordan Elliott. 13 States represented by Michigan's 28 signees, the most since the Maize and Blue inked prospects from 13 different states in 2006. 16 Four- or five-star signees landed by the Maize and Blue, representing the most signed by U-M since the 2013 class (17) and just the third time in the last 15 years Michigan has signed 15 or more recruits ranked four stars or higher (2008 is the third time). 28 Total signees, the most signed by Michigan in the Rivals.com era, eclips- ing the 27 inked to letters of intent in both 2010 and 2013. 50.0 Percentage of signees that hail from states that play host to a Big Ten program — Michigan landed three players from its home state, one from Pennsylvania, six from New Jersey, one from Wisconsin, two from Indiana and one from Maryland.
