2016 FOOTBALL RECRUITING ISSUE The addition of Crawford, Rivals. com's No. 26 wide receiver and No. 129 overall prospect nationally, was a coup for the U-M coaches. Stealing the No. 20 player in California away from UCLA, USC and Oregon was no easy feat, but Michigan had every- thing the 6-2, 183-pounder wanted in a college. "Everything about Michigan was great," Crawford said reflecting on his official visit. "The networking will get you far and it's academically sound if you do your job inside the classroom. "And, with the football there, you're going to get the best of both worlds. That's why I decided to com- mit there — it is the best fit for me." Future teammates also played a role in Crawford's decision. In early January, Crawford was in San Anto- nio for the U.S. Army All-American Bowl and teamed up with future U-M quarterback Brandon Peters on the West squad. The opportunity to play with Peters at Michigan got Crawford's attention early in the week and helped him make his deci- sion. "We've definitely talked about Michigan," Crawford said of his con- versations with Peters. "Obviously, Michigan is doing some special stuff and we've talked about that. "Brandon has a cannon. He can sling it — if you really listen, you can hear the laces. Coach Harbaugh is a good coach, and he'll get him right, too." Getting players right is something that Harbaugh is known for, and it'll be very interesting to see how he uses Evans. The 5-11, 190-pounder is
