2016 FOOTBALL RECRUITING ISSUE MEASURABLES • Runs a 4.74 40-yard dash, bench presses 350 pounds and squats 520. • Possesses a 34-inch vertical jump. STATISTICS • Recorded 55 tackles, 29 tackles for loss and 13.5 sacks during his final cam- paign. • Notched 55 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and 14 sacks in his junior season. Also blocked a punt and recovered it for a touchdown. • Posted 58 tackles, 13 tackles for loss and two sacks as a sophomore at Scotch Plains-Fanwood, where he was team- mates with fellow 2016 U-M signee Mi- chael Dwumfour. • Had 26 tackles and three sacks in his freshman season. • Forced 12 fumbles during his varsity career. • In track and field, he has personal best throws of 151'5" in the discus and 51'4.5" in the shot put. HONORS • Is the consensus No. 1 recruit in the country. • Selected as the USA Today All-USA Defensive Player of the Year following his senior year and earned a first-team All-America honor from the publication. • Received the Bobby Dodd Award as the nation's best lineman from the Touchdown Club of Atlanta following his senior season. • During his first year at Paramus Cath- olic as a junior, he was the NJ.com De- fensive Player of the Year. • Was a member of the Student Sports Sophomore All-American second team. • As a sophomore, he was a second- team All-Union Country defensive tackle. • Named first-team MaxPreps Fresh- man All-American. • Was named the Overall MVP of the National Underclassmen Combine Ul- timate 100 camp as an eighth-grader in 2012. ALL-STAR GAMES AND CAMPS • Took home MVP honors for Team Highlight after recording six tackles, three sacks and 3.5 TFLs at the Under Armour All-American Game. • At Nike's The Opening, he was named Defensive Line MVP after winning nearly every rep he took during the event. RECRUITMENT • Chose Michigan on National Signing Day out of more than 50 offers, includ- ing from Clemson (his other finalist), Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Ohio State, Stanford and UCLA to name a few.
