"We were lucky to come out of here with two points. Really lucky. If it wasn't for our goalie we wouldn't have had any," Berenson said. "They were the better team on the night, and Racine held us in there for three peri‑ ods, the overtime and the shootout." While Michigan has surrendered four, four, five and six goals in games during this 12‑game stretch, Racine has largely eliminated the really soft goals that have plagued him in the past. " O b v i o u s l y there are some g o a l s t h a t I h a v e n ' t b e e n happy with but overall I've made a lot of big saves to help the team," he said. "We all understand that the bad goals kill confidence and your team's mo‑ mentum, so we're all working hard to eliminate them. "It's not just me, it's a total team effort to get our goals against down, and I think we're on the right track." Racine has twice gotten hot in the postseason (his rookie and junior years), and with seven regular‑sea‑ son games remaining, his teammates are hopeful their goalie is ready for another sizzling run. "It's good to have him have that confidence going into playoffs be‑ cause we all feed off his confidence," junior captain J.T. Compher said.
