High boasted the top offense in the league (69.8 points per game), but Onsted (Mich.) High — ranked No. 2 in Michigan's Class B — beat its rival for the second straight time. "To play the kind of defense we did, I couldn't be more proud of the guys," Onsted (Mich.) High coach Brad Maska told The Lenawee Daily Telegram. "It's just tremendous. We found a way to win, and that's what you have to do in these type of situations." The Lenawee Daily Telegram reported Hillsdale (Mich.) High "triple teamed, hammered and banged on Davis all game," but he scored three early bas‑ kets to get the Wildcats going. Davis scored 29 points on 11‑of‑19 shooting, going 7 of 7 from the line, and added 13 rebounds, four blocked shots and four assists in a 72‑49 win at Hudson (Mich.) High Feb. 9. He notched 20 points, 14 rebounds, five assists and five steals in a 51‑28 vic‑ tory over Blissfield (Mich.) High Feb. 11. Onsted (Mich.) High clinched a share of the conference title with the win over Blissfield (Mich.) High. • Jordan Poole, 6‑3 SG, Milwaukee Rufus King Rivals.com four‑star prospect and No. 104 junior nationally Milwaukee Rufus King improved to 12‑8 by winning its last three games, including an 86‑79 win over Milwaukee Hamilton Feb. 11. Poole scored 25 in the game, making 11 of 14 free throws and a pair of three‑ pointers. Poole scored 19 in a loss to Milwaukee Riverside Jan. 27 and 11 in a victory over Milwaukee Madison Feb. 5. RECRUITING NOTES • Rivals.com four-star junior Paul Scruggs of Indianapolis Southport was in attendance to see Michigan knock off Purdue 61-56 Feb. 13. Scruggs, a 6-3 point guard, holds offers from Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan State, Purdue and others, and is considered one of the top juniors in the Midwest. • Fort Wayne (Ind.) South 2018 shooting guard Austin Boucher (6-2, 165), a summer Michigan camper, was in earlier this year and is plan- ning another trip to Ann Arbor soon. He holds interest from Indiana, Notre Dame, Purdue and others. "We had to catch an early game in the season when they played Bry- ant," Boucher said. "It was just get there, say hi to everyone and talk to them in the locker room afterwards."
